Volunteer Lead Farmer stretches a helping hand to the vulnerable

After Angela Sithole, a 36-year-old married woman, successfully completed her mandate to give Boschveld chicks to five farmers as part of the Small Livestock Recovery Program after Cyclone IDAI in Manicaland, she increased her Boschveld business to 90 birds.

Angela Sithole, a resident of Ward 13 in Chipinge District, also donated twenty-five 4-week-old Boschveld birds to help a fourth grade orphan pay her school fees. The orphan’s grandmother is rearing the birds on her behalf. The donation has opened up many new opportunities for Angela’s Day-Old Chicks business, as many teachers are now placing orders.
