Footprints in Manicaland
Following the clearance to operate in Manicaland, the pigad team has hit the ground running with community leaders and farmer sensitization meetings in Chipinge. The community meetings attended by key government stakeholders and community leaders were meant to introduce the organization and its intervention targeting the Cyclone IDAI affected households in the District.
The team has started registration and verification of the affected households in Wards 13 and 19. Wearing of masks, washing of hands, and sanitizing before the start of meetings is being observed. The project will support the production of indigenous poultry (Boschveld chickens) in the affected region. This will assist the affected households in restocking the lost small livestock (chickens) due to the Cyclone and at the same time providing the community with a cheaper source of protein.
